James Bond, the ultimate “ladies man,” was involved with some of Hollywood’s sexiest women. A Bond film simply would not be a Bond film without the presence of one of the agent’s countless “Bond Girls,” who were not only there to provide sex appeal and a romantic interest for James; many of these women were independent and fierce agents themselves and assisted in the never-ending tasks of fighting some serious villains.

This December 31, join the SYNERGY Events at our fourth annual Timeless New Year’s Eve party- A Bond Evening- at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Boston (http://www.synergynye.com/) and meet today’s Bond Girls. This upscale event is inspired by the glamour of James Bond’s old Hollywood and will transport you to a time of utmost sophistication and mystique. The event will feature a red carpet entrance with professional photographers capturing your best moments, SYNERGY spinning pop, Euro House, Arabic House, Top 40 and hip-hop, a midnight fashion exhibit featuring exquisite couture creations, champagne toast at midnight as we count down with New York City via real time connect and much more.

Ladies, are you a classic beauty like Honey Ryder, or a sexy undercover agent like Jinx? Channel your inner Bond Girl and spend an evening in pure refinement as your alter-ego. Who knows? You may even find your own charming James Bond.

Don’t know which Bond Girl you most embody? Here’s a look at our top 5, and ways you can take their looks into the New Year.

Honey Ryder

Honey Ryder, played by Ursula Andress, is remembered as the original “Bond Girl,” arriving on the scene in Dr. No in 1962. Honey is independent, courageous, and for the most part remembered for her controversial wardrobe and sultry entrance; walking out of the ocean wearing just a miniscule white bikini.

Get her simple look with Lauren by Ralph Lauren white gown (shown below), accessorized with a shell bangle and sequin shell clutch.

Pussy Galore

Pussy Galore is James Bond’s feminist pilot in Goldfinger (1964). Played by Honor Blackman, she is a resilient martial arts expert and describes herself as “immune” to Bond’s charms. Her name raised eyebrows when the film was first released, but her robust personality and skillfulness in the pilot seat earned her the respect and admiration of men and women alike.

Get Pussy Galore’s look by pairing this simple French Connection metallic dress with sexy black accessories and Louboutins for an outfit that is the opposite of girly, just like Galore.

Tracy Di Vicanzo

Tracy Di Vicenzo, played by Diana Rigg, is the only Bond Girl to actually fall in love and tie the knot with the suave spy. She enters the scene as a bit of a loose cannon, attempting to commit suicide by walking into the sea. Tracy evolves throughout the film, however, and becomes an adventurous and daring woman who captures Bond’s heart.

Get this romantic Bond girl’s look with this ivory Sue Wong drop waits beaded evening gown and Louboutins.

Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson

Jinx, played by Halle Berry, is a rare match to James Bond’s talent. She is a secret agent in Die Another Day (2002) and makes it known that she possesses equal, if not greater talent than Bond, as she works alongside him to kill the villain, Zao. Jinx is not only skilled, she is also independent and intelligent and rivals Bond’s every attribute.

Get Jinx’s fierce, sultry look with this leather-embellished dress and leather stilettos.

Vesper Lynd

Vesper Lynd, played by Eva Green in 2006’s Casino Royale is a mischievous Bond Girl who manipulates the hero. The beautiful and shrewd agent dies a tragic death at the end of the film, however, and her true identity as a double agent is revealed, leaving Bond with a feeling of betrayal and mistrust for all women.

Channel Vesper Lynd in this elegant and romantic violet ensemble, and embellish yourself in sparkles to catch your own James Bond!

Bond Girls’ Signature Looks – Ready to dress up like a movie star?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

With the arrival of SYNERGY’s 007-themed New Year’s Eve party approaching, soon a question on everyone’s mind will be “What to wear?” With the help of the famous women in the James Bond series, everyone can enjoy a bit of danger and glamour.

Sexy, beautiful, charismatic, and ready to kick ass, The Bond Girl has many aspects of her personality that charm all of us. Along with her attitude, the Bond Girl has also allured us through her outfits of choice.

Honey Rider, the first Bond Girl, emerged onto the scene in a white bikini in the first of the Bond Series’, Dr. No (1962). The scene, which is one of cinema’s most famous, begins with her coming out of the ocean, sun glimmering off her bronze skin and blonde hair, with a seashell in each hand, singing a beautiful tune. The impact of the scene was huge; a UK survey held by Channel 4 recognized Honey Ryder’s entrance as number one of the 100 Greatest Sexy Moments (BBC 2003), Entertainment Weekly voted Ryder as the best Bond Girl, and Andress attributes her success to the bikini scene. Die Another Day (2002) restored the act, this time with Halle Berry as ‘Jinx’ in a teeny orange bikini.

Our next Bond Girl, Jill Masterson, was golden, literally. Covered and gleaming from head to toe in gold paint, Jill kept our attention with her bed-head hair, black winged eyeliner, and incredible talent to wear metallic (and nothing else) in Goldfinger (1964). A famous fashion moment was when she wore only Bond’s baby blue pajama top. She was also famous for sunning in a black bikini on a lavish balcony while spying, the first time Bond and her meet.

Goldfinger also introduced us to Pussy Galore, another Bond Girl. As the head of the Flying Circus, an all-female team of pilots, her outfit was comprised of a white button down vest with black tailored pants; Lady Gaga’s dance sequence in 2010’s Alejandro is reminiscent of this look. She was also known to display her décolletage with sexy low-cut blouses, perfect to seduce Bond into a hay stack. Her long, golden bob was always side-parted with a bit of flounce at the bottom and her full, lush eyelashes further highlighted the “come-hither” attitude she exhibited.

The Man With the Golden Gun (1974), was the ninth film in the series and acquainted audiences with Andrea Anders,
AKA “Miss Anders.” Her high cheek-bones and icy blue eyes attracted us immediately, but her skill with a gun reeled us in. Paired with a serpentine black one-piece swimsuit and a paisley print scarf over her hair, or a lavender silk robe with sheer tights and black strappy sandals, she knew just how to draw us in and keep our attention with her sultry yet subtle outfit choices.

Another blonde with a fabulous bone structure was Magda from Octopussy (1983), who was most famous for her dramatic outfits. A belly-dancer’s costume comprised of bright red fabric, silver trim, and silver fringe was one of Magda’s memorable looks. The two-piece was accessorized with colored gems on golden belts, bracelets, headpieces, and a chunky necklace. Long, manicured fingernails and smoky eyes were the perfect beauty touches to complete the look. Magda was also remembered for her ringleader suit. The outfit included a black top hat with a white band, a white bowtie, white blouse, black jacket studded with rhinestones, black hot pants, and black fishnets. Magda gave theatrical attire a sexy twist which would make any man with a pulse drool.

A long-sleeve, plum sheer gown with floral embellishments covering just the right spots – this is how Elektra King was remembered in The World is Not Enough (1999). The sheer top stopped just about waist-high and continued into a matching plum silk skirt with a high slit that left the imagination running. Her other notable dress of choice was a sequin scarlet gown with matching shawl, ruby earrings and velvety red lips. Her wispy, unfussy brunette tresses were another staple to her looks, acting as the balancing act to the overtly sexy dresses.

Vesper Lynd, Casino Royale (2006), makes her silver screen debut approaching the poker table to meet with James Bond. All eyes on her as she glides through the crowds in a slinky plum gown with low-cut front and back, smoky eyes, and piled-on jewelry; unfortunately her entrance was supposed to be low-key, but who cannot gain the spotlight in a sultry look as such? Vesper also favors classic looks, such as black and white stripes on a boating trip with Bond or a chic chignon on a train ride, proving that seductive and elegant can live in harmony.

Camille, Quantum of Solace (2008), was the most recent of our beloved Bond Girls. The Russian/Bolivian beauty was squeezed into a 50’s inspired Little Black Dress; a tight bustier top accentuated her tiny waist, while the bottom billowed out into a romantic, pleated skirt. She wore a cute, trendy bob and natural makeup, emphasizing her stunning splendor.

These favorable Bond Girls know what they are doing when it comes to style. Mainly focusing on the low-key make-up but high-end fashion, they achieve a balance between sweet and sexy. With the face of an angel but the attitude of a rebel, they display strong confidence, a characteristic every woman should posses. It’s safe to say that we all would all benefit from possessing a little Bond Girl action in all of us.

Timeless – New Years Eve Party 2010 (Boston’s Best New Years Eve Party)

Friday, January 1st, 2010

They’ ve done it again! SYNERGY Events put on their second annual New Year’ s Eve Timeless event, proving to be more successful than the last.

Sticking with their theme of  “ Old Hollywood” gaining inspiration from 1940’ s glamour, the bash held a pre-party red carpet, presented couture gowns, played dance music,  and had champagne flowing. It was hard to feel anything but famous making one’ s way down the exclusive red carpet complete with photographers into Boston’ s hottest party of the year.

Timeless two-timer Karen Sabag, a vintage designer, showcased her most recent collection of couture gowns at the event, creating an atmosphere of drama and refinement. Guests were able to gaze in awe as the designs were exhibited throughout the party. Gowns were constructed of lush and dreamy fabrics in silvers and blacks. The glamorous silhouettes were a nod to the era in which the party was influenced by.

Hair was done by a Boston favorite,  Steve Doherty.  Doherty has been in the industry since 1980, was the winner of the Best of Boston twice and is a hair stylist at the acclaimed Salon Marc Harris (Broad St. location). Music was provided by pop/R& B artist Lee Wilson. DJ ILMADIK also worked the turntables like he did last year and provided the latest club music for the guests to dance to. Project K Paz also supplied “spontaneous music,” which is entirely improvisation from start to finish.

Not only was the soiree a complete success, a percentage of proceeds also benefited The Home for Little Wanderers. It is a non-profit organization that assists the lives of young children and families who live an endangered life and is headquartered in Boston. Since being in existence for over 200 years, The Home has successfully serviced underprivileged families.

Tickets ran for just $65 for regular admission and $100 for VIP. Incentives included the first hundred to purchase tickets got the chance to win an iPhone. Prizes were also given out to award the best dressed male and female respectively.

Timeless: The Most Exclusive Boston New Years Eve Party 2009

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Old Hollywood conjures up images of luxury and glamour. Though the era is far behind us due to our pop culture obsessions of celebrities’ every move, the style of Old Hollywood has withstood the test of time. Starlets such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Clara Bow, and James Dean still dress the walls of our bedrooms and serve as muses to the largest of fashion houses. Old Hollywood stays relevant in our society’ s norm of new.

Taking cue from an ageless point in time, SYNERGY Events held an “ Old Hollywood” theme New Years Eve Boston Gala, the perfect way to welcome a new year in style. About 350 guests were treated to fashion, beauty, music, and spirits at The Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Globally-respected designer Karen Sabang, a guru of dramatic couture, displayed glamorous gowns inspired by Old Hollywood starlets. Sabang’ s garments utilized the fabrics and colors of the era, like candy apple red, draped velvet, plum, feathers, floating chiffon, and sequin-embellished materials.

The designs were the perfect balance of Old Hollywood glamour and contemporary couture.

Models were transformed into Old Hollywood beauty queens by Girly Junk, a cosmetics service based out of Norwell, MA. The girls were donned in tasteful metallics, sultry red lips, and effortlessly sexy updos: the ideal touch to complete their flapper fashions.

Guests got to dance the year away thanks to Reup, a jazz/hip-hop fused band, and rising star Renee Marcou, a pint-sized spunky blonde whose voice is compared to that of Christina Aguilera. DJ ILMATI provided music for the fashion show.

There was not a tired soul in the building as energy-drink company Red Bull kept guests amped. Canadian export, Pearl Vodka, flowed through glasses as the event’ s vodka of choice. And to satisfy those who had New Year’ s Resolutions dedicated to weight loss, diet and health beverage Fuze was offered.

Though we live in a “ New Hollywood” society, Old Hollywood still reigns supreme.

SYNERGY Event’ s Timeless New Years Eve celebration was anything but typical. By blending high fashion, modern beauty, and contemporary music with the ambiance of a sophisticated speakeasy during the rebellion of prohibition, the event welcomed a new year by honoring a past era.
